Chemically Unhinged (sometimes abbreviated as ChemUn) is an informative and slice of life Webtoon Canvas created by WhoopDeDooz5250. It updates on an irregular schedule, but updates at least once or more in a week.
Synopsis[]
Chemically Unhinged follows the hilariously unhinged and occasionally normal lives of 118 characters, each based on an element from the periodic table. In a world where chemistry gets weird, these outlandish elements bicker, bond, and baffle each other in a series of uproarious misadventures. Science has never been this quirky!
Characters[]
The characters in Chemically Unhinged are all based off every element in the periodic table, with each possessing their own quirks, personalities, and appearances based on the element's properties, namesake, or a choice the creator made.
Every character possesses at least their symbol in their body, with most being in their foreheads. Elements mostly have two eyes, a mouth, and a head and body, but some elements have different proportions and designs, and some possess accessories like clothes, hair, powers, etc.
Elements can be categorized in many different ways, some are solids liquids and gasses. Some elements are radioactive, and some are not. Many of them are metals, and some are metalloids or non-metals.
Plot[]
The plot of the comics of Chemically Unhinged center around the daily lives of one or more element in their community, usually with a comedic twist or to give a deep look into the life of an element. These episodes are arranged chronologically, unless if an episode is supposed to be in the past.
Sometimes there is a single story, usually more longer than the average story in a single episode, these are told in separate episodes, which are the different parts of the story. The two times this was used is in Atomic Debt in episodes 8-12 in Season 3 and Thrymskvida in episodes 20-29 in Season 5.
Trivia[]
- Chemically Unhinged was supposed to be named as "Chemically Unhinged Moments" but was scrapped due to the inappropriate nature of the acronym.
- When it was in planning, it was called "The Unhinged Periodic Table" , and the characters resemble somewhat like Countryballs.
- During it's overall 69th-70th episode, over 21 characters were redesigned.
- Chemically Unhinged was supposed to be a YouTube series, but was turned into a webcomic due to WhoopDeDooz5250 lack of motivation and time to create videos.
- Chemically Unhinged is made as WhoopDeDooz5250's new internet series after his old YouTube series named Fennel Tales was canceled.
- The molecule in the new starting wordmark banner in S4 E8+ is a methamphetamine molecule.
- Due to the creator's realization that carbon was the very first element discovered in antiquity, not copper due to prehistoric cave paintings painted in charcoal several hundred years before humans were able to extract copper, Carbon was changed as the main element in the thumbnail.
